Isostatically pressed material is made by taking the fine graphite powder blend and placing it in a hot isostatic press. The completed pressed cylinder or block is then further heat treated to fully solidify, densify, modify, and purify the graphite into the final properties and crystalline structure desired. After forming it is then cut up with large band saws into raw stock for machining and shaping. Here is a basic video explaining the process
